Scarborough Adult Baseball League

Update  3:– There is only 1 spot left - only 1 row of tickets left to sell! To secure the last spot in Rogers game on June 11th - all you have to do is sell 11 tickets @ $35. Contact Mike Dymond if interested (dymond@rbmconsulting.com)

After a 2 year hiatus, the SABL is going back to the Rogers Centre!! For those of you that don’t know, our league will play a 2.5 hour game at the Dome if we sell $10,000 worth of Jays tickets.

So here is the deal – there will be 30 players allowed to play at the Dome (15 per team) The date for the game is set for Saturday night June 11th. The team will be made up from players and teams that sell tickets.

Any team that sells $350 in tickets gets 1 spot. $1000 gets your team 2 spots. Each team can decided how to send that player (a draw, highest ticket seller, etc.)

ALSO Any INDIVIDUAL that buys $350 worth of tickets from Mike Dymond, will automatically be on the team. If an individual sells $1000 worth of tickets they can have 2 spots (one for them and one for a buddy).

Only restriction is it has to be someone that plays in the SABL.

We are selling to the May 6 game against Detroit (although if there is another game you want to sell to, email and maybe I can work something out):

Friday May 6th vs DETROIT 7pm:

Tickets are $35/ticket for Baselines ($44 face value) and $20/ticket for 100 Level Outfield ($24 face value).

Remember it is not how many tickets you buy, it’s $350 minimum. So it only takes 10 tickets to the May 6th game if you go in baselines or it takes 18 tickets if you go in outfield. There are 30 spots to fill – It will be a first come first served policy as soon as we hit $10,000, it will be closed to more people joining.

In a repeat of last year’s finals, the Dragons took on the defending champs, Royals.  This time around it was a different outcome as the Dragons took their first championship series with a 3 game sweep.  In game 1 of the finals, Dragons won 2-0, Tim March of the Dragons dominated on the mound by throwing a complete game 3 hit shutout, all the offense was provided by Cam Kirby who drove in both runs of the game, the last run coming from a solo blast.  In game 2, Dragons won 5-3, lead by another great pitching performance by Dean Pecarski and a turned double play by Andy Ryder late in the game played a key role and holding off the Royals late surge.  Going into game 3, the big question for both teams was if the weather would hold up to get the game in, well game 3 started on time as the clouds and rain held off, and with Dragon supporters in the crowd the team did not disappoint their fans by breaking open the game in the 4th inning by putting up 7 runs to break up a scoreless game and went on to finish the series with a score of 13-1 to take the 2010 SABL championship.  Game 3 was highlighted once again by the pitching performance of Tim March, who threw a CG, 8K, 3 hitter and the offense was spread amongst the entire Dragons roster, lead by the three headed monster of Sacha Heravi, Dean Pecarski and Bryan Todes, who all batted over .500 for the playoffs.  Good Season Dragons…..enjoy it boys!!!!!

In the voice of Dave “grey bum, nasty, 2-7, turtleneck” Stermole…….DRRRRRRRAGONS!!!!!!
